Terms & Conditions

Last updated: [LAST UPDATED DATE]

These terms apply to your use of LawNotebook, a digital study platform for law students operated by LawnoteBook (“LawNotebook”, “we”, “us”). Please read them carefully before you create an account or buy a subscription.

1. Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account, buying a subscription or otherwise using LawNotebook, you agree to these terms, to our Privacy Policy and to our Cancellation & Refund Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

2. Your account and its security

To study on LawNotebook you register with your name, email address, phone number, state, city, university and college. You agree that the information you give us is accurate and that you will keep it up to date.

Your account is personal to you. Keep your password confidential, do not share your account with anyone else, and tell us promptly at support@lawnotebook.com if you believe someone else has used it. You are responsible for activity that takes place under your account.

3. Eligibility

LawNotebook is intended for students of law colleges. [ELIGIBILITY AND MINIMUM AGE REQUIREMENT TO BE CONFIRMED] If you use LawNotebook on behalf of someone else, or with the permission of a parent or guardian, you confirm that you have the authority to accept these terms.

4. Course subscriptions and digital access

LawNotebook provides digital educational content. A course is organised into years, semesters, subjects and units, and each unit contains questions with model answers.

A subscription is bought for one complete course. While it is active, it gives you access to all the content published for that course on LawNotebook — every available published year, semester, subject and unit, not only the first unit, year or semester. It does not give access to other courses. Some content, such as the first unit of each subject, may be available without a subscription.

A subscription is a one-time purchase for a fixed validity period. It does not renew automatically, and you are not charged again unless you choose to buy another period.

5. Pricing and payment

The price of a subscription, and any applicable taxes, are shown to you before you pay. The amount you pay is the amount shown at checkout.

Online payments are processed by our payment partner, Razorpay. Where your college offers it, you may also pay at the college office, and an authorised administrator will record your payment. A subscription is activated only after your payment has been successfully confirmed.

Once payment is successfully completed and the course subscription is activated, the subscription fee is non-refundable. The subscription provides immediate access to the complete published course content included in the selected course. See our Cancellation & Refund Policy, which also explains how duplicate or incorrect charges are handled. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under applicable law.

6. Subscription validity

Each subscription is valid for the period stated for the course when you buy it. The period starts on the day your payment is confirmed and ends on the date shown on your Subscription page.

If you renew before your current period ends, the new period starts the day after the current one ends, so you do not lose any days. Renewal is available towards the end of a period, as shown on your Subscription page. When a period ends without renewal, access to subscription content stops; your account itself remains.

7. Course and content access

Content is published by the respective law college or its authors and is provided for study purposes only. We work to keep content accurate and aligned to the syllabus, but model answers are study aids: they are not legal advice, and they do not guarantee any examination result.

Content may be added, corrected, reorganised or withdrawn during your subscription period, for example when a syllabus changes.

8. Acceptable use

When using LawNotebook you agree not to:

  • share your account, or resell or redistribute access to it;
  • copy, publish, sell or distribute content from the platform, including downloaded PDFs, except for your own personal study;
  • use automated tools to scrape, download or harvest content;
  • attempt to bypass access controls, payment or security measures, or interfere with the platform;
  • use the platform for anything unlawful, or to upload anything offensive or harmful.

Downloaded study material is marked with your name and email address, and is for your personal use only.

9. Intellectual property

All content on LawNotebook, including questions, model answers, text, design, logos and software, belongs to LawNotebook, the respective law colleges or their licensors, and is protected by intellectual property laws. A subscription gives you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive right to use the content for your own study during its validity period. It does not transfer any ownership.

10. Notes, bookmarks and your own information

LawNotebook lets you keep notes, Remember and Revisit lists, to-dos, reminders and progress. This information is yours and is used to provide those features to you. You are responsible for what you write in it. Please do not store sensitive personal information in your notes. How we handle this information is described in our Privacy Policy.

11. Notifications and communications

We send you messages needed to run your account, such as registration confirmation, password reset, payment and subscription messages, and replies to feedback you send us. You may also receive notifications inside the platform about your course and your account.

12. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that is used fraudulently, or where we are required to by law. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why. You may stop using LawNotebook at any time; see our Cancellation & Refund Policy for what happens to a paid subscription.

13. Availability and service limitations

We aim to keep LawNotebook available at all times, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. The platform may be unavailable during maintenance, updates or events outside our control, and it depends on your own device and internet connection.

14. Changes to courses, content and these terms

We may update courses, content and features from time to time. We may also update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed, and where a change is significant we will tell you through the platform or by email. Continuing to use LawNotebook after a change means you accept the updated terms.

15. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, LawNotebook is provided “as is”, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from your reliance on study content. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you in connection with a subscription is limited to the amount you paid for that subscription.
